Academy vs In- house: Which is the better choice for my player?

How do I know which league to choose for my 9U-10U player? Here are some details to consider:

9U/10U In House League

  • 1 practice/week

  • $152.50

  • Parent volunteer coach

  • Practice within Middleton

  • Games within Middleton/Madison West area

  • Friend requests ALLOWED

 

9U/10U Academy

  • 2 practices/week

  • $302.50

  • Parent volunteer coach with Technical Director running second training

  • Practice within Middleton

  • Games within Middleton/Madison West area

    • Possible travel throughout Dane County for away games

  • Friend requests NOT ALLOWED (no exceptions!)

 

How do I know which option to choose?!

Is your child willing to play on a team without his/her friends?

  • NO - In House
  • YES - Academy

Is your child practicing/playing soccer outside of their normal allotted practice/game time?

  • If they do not show much interest out of current obligations - In House
  • If they cannot stop playing – Academy

Is your family willing to commit to an increase in travel/finances?

  • No – In House
  • Yes – Academy
